They sure are beautiful! I have never grown dahlias because I just cannot think how to keep them here in the winter since I have no cool place to store them. Someday I will figure out how best I can do that. Thanks for the posting.
ReplyDeleteThey were lovely, and so many of them were very large...larger than my hand. And so colorful. I was so jealous, because I don't have enough sun here to grow a large collection of them.
DeleteDarling dahlias! Not something I could ever grow here, but they sure are pretty, aren't they? Nice post, Beth! Tina
ReplyDeleteHi Tina: Yes, they are beautiful. And so many of these were gigantic and so lush. I wish I could grow more here...but I don't have enough sun. Thanks!
DeleteEvery one a beauty! The 6th flower (peach and white) is one I saw earlier this season and fell in love with. I'm going to have to hunt it down to plant next year.
ReplyDeleteI love them...well, I love them all. I wish I had more sun for Dahlias. I would definitely plant more. :)
DeleteBeautiful dahlias. Great post. I admire dahlias more and more each year. They have so many variations.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susie. Yes, there were sooo many beauties! This is just a small sample. I agree: I've come to love them more and more over the years. They're beautiful, and they're such great cut flowers. <3
DeleteAbsolutely outstanding dahlias, amazing and so pretty.

Thanks for visiting! I checked out the WW blog you mentioned. Have a great weekend and week ahead!
DeleteWOW!!! I was just sharing with my husband how dahlias were no big deal for so many years. They really made a comeback and I am so happy about that.
ReplyDeleteI do wonder what flower will be the next comeback?
Hey, Carla. The Dahlias were impressive in the Philly gardens--so many HUGE ones! I have become more of a fan of Dahlias as the years go by. Unfortunately, I don't have enough sun for more than a few plants. Re: the comeback...it's always changing, isn't it?
DeleteI love dahlias but they struggle in our blazing hot summer heat. Seeing these pictures reminded me I have not dug up my one remaining dahlia plant to store for the winter. It has been added to my to-do list for this weekend.

I have the opposite problem in my shady garden. I can only plant a few. But they love our climate, so maybe someday... Have a great weekend!
DeleteWow! They are so beautiful. I wish I had extra room to grow rows & rows of them.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I so agree! And I wish I had more sun for them. Next garden, maybe?
DeleteA few?! What a fabulous set of colorful dahlias. Hoping to join the fling next year, for my first time, since it will be in my neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteHa! I didn't even realize I had taken so many Dahlia photos until I got home and started organizing the files. I'm obviously having Dahlia envy. Good to hear you'll join the next Fling! I hope we'll be able to meet.
