OOOoooo just seeing a bloom makes me excited. It is so warming.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Lisa! Several of my indoor plants are really starting to bloom, and I am so happy! :)
DeleteI can imagine the fragrance that will soon surround you!
ReplyDeleteIt IS special! Along with other Hyacinths in other pots. :)
DeleteSo bright and cheerful! It makes me think I should try forcing some bulbs.
ReplyDeleteThis year, I simply moved them into the sunroom before the first frost. Other years, I've kept them in the garage, and then moved them outside in spring. But it's always hard to get the timing right to coincide with Easter or a specific date. So, I'm taking the easy route this year. ;-)
Delete:-) I have paper whites popping up. My youngest son says that the fragrance of the paper whites STINK!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Paper Whites! They do have a unique scent, but they are so graceful and lovely. My mom gave me one this year in a bulb-forcing vase. :)
DeleteJust look at that color! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYes, pretty pink, for sure. Pink is not my favorite color, but this shade makes me smile. :)
DeleteThe anticipation of spring!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes! Every day we come closer to that season of rebirth!
DeleteGorgeous! I'm almost at my winter "turning point" - only one more month and the onions are being sown...a whole other type of "sweet smell ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I ordered seeds today and I'll be planting them in grow pots soon. Thanks for the reminder to get some onion sets...although they won't go out until April.
DeleteAmazing what a bit of pinkish color and green can do for my day about now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this Beth!
You're welcome, Lynne. I agree: The bright pink, and anything green, really helps my mood. :)
DeleteI just googled forcing bulbs to flower, because I had heard the phrase and didn't know what it meant. Wonderful idea to provide colour and cheer during winter. I love hyacinths, they really seem to belong in a pot.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a fun way to help curb the winter blues in a cold climate. I love Hyacinths, too!
DeleteSo beautiful. A friend game me a paperwhite just beginning to send up shoots and now it has been in bloom for three fragrant weeks and going strong. I should say it is in my bedroom which is kept VERY cool. The amaryllis will be blooming soon, too.
ReplyDeletePaperwhites and Amaryllises are awesome, too! Enjoy!
DeleteNice! Maybe it's not too late for us to force some bulbs.
ReplyDeleteNo, I think you can do it any time, really. Of course, one of the nicest times is now when we're longing for spring!
DeleteThis hyacinth is so beautiful! Hyacinths don't do very well here, but a pot indoors would be a cheerful run-up to spring!
ReplyDeleteYes, potted bulbs should work in just about any climate indoors, I would think. They help make winter a little more fun!
DeleteBeautiful blossom:)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a beautiful shade of pink? And the scent is wonderful!
