What contrast! Needless to say #3 and 7 all the way for me!
ReplyDeleteMe, too! The natural areas and hiking opportunities were incredible. They much exceeded my expectations. Such tough plants growing in those conditions. And beautiful plants and views, too!
DeleteUn clima completamente diverso dal nostro che è quasi alpino. Chissà quanti cactus ci saranno in quella zona!
ReplyDeleteUn saluto!
Yes, the climate is very different from mine, too. It was fascinating. The Cacti, in particular, were so impressive. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI like the Senna. I hope you had a great visit, Beth!
ReplyDeleteWe had a great vacation, Kris. Las Vegas and surrounds is a great destination in February and March. The hiking was wonderful.
DeleteAnother vote for the Ferocactus and the Yucca. Glad you got a chance to enjoy the beauties of desert Nevada.
ReplyDeleteYes, our hikes revealed some incredible plants in incredible locations! Desert plants are so fascinating. The entire trip was fun, but I especially enjoyed the adventures in the desert/natural settings.
DeleteLooks like it was a great trip, Beth. Lots of color in these pots and gardens; I particularly liked the Senna artemisioides, and the photo of the desert at the conservation area was just gorgeous! Tina
ReplyDeleteHi Tina: Yes, it was a wonderful trip. Las Vegas met my expectations, and the surrounding area exceeded expectations. There are so many wonderful hiking opportunities! Thanks. :)
DeleteI'm all for the natural, but Vegas is fun - the flowers on the Sphere are a perfect addition!
ReplyDeleteYes, Vegas was fun! We did some walking and sightseeing around several areas of the city. The Sphere was nifty, and the show there was fabulous!
DeleteThat's a completely different and much appreciated take on Las Vegas. The view with the Yucca schidigera is spectacular.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jerry. The Las Vegas area is much more interesting and diverse than I expected. It was a enjoyable trip. :)
DeleteBelated comments on your enjoyable LV posts—neat country! En route to the coast I've often stopped at Valley of Fire and other places along the Northshore Road, such interesting plants and rocks :)
ReplyDeleteHey Hollis: Yes, Las Vegas was fun. Isn't Valley of Fire amazing?! I don't have much desire to go back to the city, but there certainly are amazing natural features, plants, and structures in that area.
DeleteThank you for all that color. We are having a grey day here... I am in hopes Spring will truly be here soon!
ReplyDeleteCarla
Hi Carla: I don't know about your location, but we're getting a giant late snowstorm here. All my blooming plants are ploughed over with the white stuff. Yuck. I hope it melts fast.
DeleteRocks and desert plants make a wonderful pair. Wide open skies not city crowds ;~) We have 2 days of severe warnings for wind, heavy rain and 'low surges' along the coast.
