Is this the earliest?
ReplyDeleteMy husband tapped our Maple Trees yesterday afternoon. 2/20, that is the earliest for us!!! Wow, what a Wisconsin Winter this has been.
Love, Carla
Good question: I tried to look back and find the dates, but it got complicated. I think often the buds are forming in mid- to late February, but we don't see them under the snow. I know a lot of plants are early this year because of El Nino and probably climate change. It's a bit strange.
DeleteThe promise of spring!
ReplyDeleteYes, just around the corner. :)
DeleteWow--it's early for you, isn't it? Still, it must be nice to see the new green. Tina
ReplyDeleteI think so; definitely some of the plants are emerging and budding early. I think with Snowdrops and some other early blooming plants, sometimes the buds are forming this time of year but we usually have snow so we don't see them. We are having unusually warm weather this winter, for sure.
Deleteoohh so nice to see!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a thrill--every year! :)
DeleteSo exciting for you to see new growth after a long winter.
ReplyDeleteIt is! And they're even blooming today!
DeleteWonderful - and astonishing to see the differences in our flowering times. the snowdrops are just really coming to an end here!
ReplyDeleteYes, we are later...and this is even early for us. The Snowdrops are blooming today! Cheers!
DeleteSo fresh and pristine...the beauty of New. Always enjoy seeing Galanthus, since we can't really grow them here.
ReplyDeleteThey're blooming now. They're so tough--making it through our recent extreme temperature and condition changes.
DeleteWatching bulbs coming up all over but very slowly as we warm this week.
ReplyDeleteThe strange temperature swings barely affect these guys. ;-)
DeleteWe are mid to most of the way through crocus and snow drop season here.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is much earlier for us. Most years, it seems spring (which, for us includes any early bloomers) happens mostly in mid-March until mid-May.
