  1. Beautiful photos, thank you.
Are you trying to winter over any of your plants this season?

    1. Thanks. :) Yes, I am planning to bring some in...only a couple of the ones shown here, but several other potted plants that are on the back porch now, transitioning.

  2. Good to see that you're enjoying your reprieve! My Cosmos are in the green bin but that's due to mildew, not frost. The latter is a foreign concept here.

    1. I will miss the Cosmos and the Zinnias for sure. I can't imagine living in a place without frosts or freezes. A slightly warmer clime than mine would be nice, though. And definitely winter vacations in warm places are the best!

    1. It's been great. Sadly, they'll be gone after lows in the 20s all this next week. Oh well, on to late autumn and winter...

  5. A lot more happening in your garden than in mine. It has been so green and warm that I haven't really begun to prep the garden for winter. Looks like I will be doing it in the cold.

    1. It's been nice to have blooms this late. I clipped all the rest of the Zinnias and some other flowers this afternoon, since we'll have lows in the 20s all this next week. So many trees are still green, as you say, but this next cold snap will change things fast.

  6. Hi Beth, I was really glad to see your post on my reading list ... I knew there would be great colors, badly needed here! My fave is the Asclepias.

    1. Yes, lots of color still, but our week ahead will be cold. I'll be sad to see it all go. The tropical milkweed is colorful; of course it's an annual here, and I usually grow it in a pot. :)

  7. Beth - You are a great photographer as well as gardener. Those are beautiful flowers, and STILL blooming! I have a few zinnias still blooming but the big delight is all the pink Sheffield daisies!

    1. Gosh, thank you Pat. Yes, your daisies are lovely! I'll be sad to see everything die or go dormant, which will happen this next week with very cold temps. :(

    1. Pam: Yes, it will be sad, and it will happen this week. I'm trying to focus on positive things about November, December, and January. February is a lost cause. ;-) But then, spring happens. :)

    1. Thank you, Susie. Yes, it has been a longer than "normal" growing season this year. We had a hot, dry summer, too, so it almost seems like I'm in a slightly warmer garden zone (I won't say that too loudly because I don't want to revert in the other direction). ;-)

  11. You still had quite a lot of blooms for this time of the year. I'm glad frost arrived late. Maybe spring will be early! We can hope at least.

    1. Yes, we are cold now, but closer to "normal." I hope the winter won't be too cold and brutal...
