Wordless Wednesday:
Rain on the Redbud!

And a first glimpse of our new above-ground pond! Fits right in with the light, gentle rain (finally). Yes!

    1. Thanks, Karin! The hubby gets all the credit--I'm simply enjoying it as a great addition to the garden. It's a work in progress, though.

    1. Thanks, Laura. We were so thrilled last night to finally get some rain. People were squealing with delight as the raindrops fell. I've never gone that long without rain--crazy!

  3. How wonderful! I'm so happy for you that you finally got some rain. We had a shower again yesterday, and there's a chance for more this week, so I haven't had to water, thank goodness. Your new pond is beautiful!

    1. Isn't that wonderful? To go even a day without having to water the garden is a great reprieve! And all of a sudden, everything is growing like crazy overnight. The hubby created the pond. It's a work in progress--stay tuned. :)

  4. I love the new pond. I have been thinking of doing something like that in my garden. I like the idea of the water level being raised up.

    1. Thanks! It's still under development, but it's fun to watch the plants grow and the fish dart in and out of the corners. Very entertaining!

    1. Sending rain thoughts your way, Donna! You often get our weather after us, so I'm hoping that will happen now. It was quite a storm tonight, though, so I hope you simply get the beneficial rain without the drama of a storm.

    1. Maybe we can exchange now--you can have some of our sun, and we'll be happy with our little bursts of rain. Last summer was so perfect--I know it can't be like that every year. Lots of plants died around town before this rain, so that is sad.

  7. I am so happy that some of the rain we no longer needed here in London found its way to you! Yesterday we had a whole day without rain and this week-end is supposed to be clear skies and sunny!! We haven't had a whole week-end without rain since early April. Would you like some more of the wet stuff, I'll be happy to send next weeks batch your way!

    1. Gosh, that is good news for both of us! Sunshine will feel so good for you, and your plants will probably burst with blooms (although they're doing that already in your lovely garden). And just in time for the Olympics! Cheers!

    1. Thank you, Mary. Suddenly, the ground seems saturated and it's very cool. Cautiously optimistic that the drought is reversing...

  10. Oh, yeah - you did end up putting in a pond! It looks amazing!! Do you love it? Did you put fish in there? We finally got some rain too! The gardens seemed to jump for joy. :-) Now things will really start to go nuts, I can't wait!
